Book Review

Standing Next To History by Joseph Petro

I was interested in reading this book about the life of a secret service agent. I found it interesting and it held my attention well.

The book is mostly just stories from the authors life, but he did provide some insight as to how the secret service operates. The author's stories start as an athlete, then to the military and then to the secret service.

I found one of the lessons that Petro learned while in office candidate school to be very useful. It is the definition of leadership which is simply, "take care of your men." How much better can you describe leadership.

Overall, if you are interested in reading stories from the secret service you will enjoy this book.
